Charles Star CC   Dundee based club actively involved in promoting events in that area
Deeside Thistle CC   A fine new site from Aberdeen based Deeside Thistle who claim to be the biggest cycling club in Britain - though as we all know, size isn't everything!
Dundee Wheelers   Dundee based (obviously) and prolific promoters of time trials on the Dundee-Perth road
Edinburgh Road Club   An excellent site from this expanding club
Edinburgh University CC   For a student’s view of cycling, take a look at this site
Falkirk Bike Club   Active club in central Scotland, promotes several events each year
Forth Valley CC   Same comments as for Falkirk BC above
Glasgow University CC   Check out the spelling in the welcome page – it has to be a joke!
Hawick Cycling Club   In the Scottish Borders traces its origins back to 1881 – even further back than us!
Kennoway Road Club   Another Fife based club with an active membership, promoting several events in Fife each year.

National Organisations
Audax UK   "The premier long distance cyclists' association in the UK"
BCCA   These guys run cyclocross in the UK
British Cycling Federation   The governing body for the sport in the UK. If you road race, you can check your points total on-line here.
Cyclists' Touring Club   Britain's largest cycling organisation. Not just touring and plus-fours!
CTC Lothian DA   The Lothian branch of the Cyclists Touring Club. Lots of information on local touring and cycle campaigning.
East of Scotland Cycling Association   The district association for clubs and cycle racing activities in the east of Scotland. Includes information on the popular Ingliston Bike Blast events.
International Bicycle Fund   An NGO promoting "sustainable transport and international understanding". Plenty of unusual bike-related links here.
League of Veteran Racing Cyclists   The LVRC is an independent body which organises races and social events for riders over 40. Races are grouped by age.
Safe Routes Network   Cycle campaigning organisation.
Scottish Cycling Web Site   This large site is part of the Scottish Cycling Challenge Fund Project promoted by the CTC. It hopes to become a major website for all aspects of Scottish cycling, including club information and route guides.
Scottish Cyclocross   Kind of official Scottish Cyclocross website. It features our very own Craig Hardie.
SPOKES   The Lothian Cycle Campaign
Scottish Cylists' Union   The organising body for cycle racing in Scotland. Includes links to many other Scottish Cycling sites.
Sustrans   "Sustainable Transport". Not in fact a cycling organisation, they promote sane methods of transport through practical engineering projects, most notably their conversion of disused railways into pedestrian/cycle tracks.
The Scottish Cycling Project   A central database for all information related to cycling in Scotland.
The Scottish Triathlon Association   Information on triathlon competition in Scotland.
The Tandem Club   The name says it all!
The Trail Cyclists' Association   The Organisation for Mountain Bike Orienteering and the Trailquest League.

www.cyclingnews.com   Formerly Bill's Cycle Racing Results & News Service - Without doubt the best results site on the Web! Always up to date, often with interim reports filed part-way through races! If you're interested in the international pro' scene, this is a must-see!
Eurosport   An excellent site with lots of up-to-date results and news from the European pro scene; info on pro teams and riders; and a complete European pro. calendar. Well worth a look. No sign of Dave Duffield, though!
Tout le Cyclisme Féminin   A website dedicated to women's racing. Nicolas Leroy has addressed a neglected area of the sport with race results, news, photos, world rankings, and links to other sites featuring women's cycling. In French only.
Vuelta a Espańa   The official site of the Tour of Spain has detailed summaries of each day's stage, together with route maps and other items of interest to followers of the race.

Chris Boardman   This is an unofficial appreciation site with lots of stuff about Chris and plenty of pictures of the man in action.

British Human Power Club   HPVs are much faster than conventional bikes – but are unfortunately banned from taking part in non HPV races. This site has all sorts of interesting stuff on HPVs including constructing and racing HPVs and events organised by the Club for HPVs in the UK. Well worth a look, especially if you don't know what a HPV is.

Bike Shops in Scotland

Alpine Bikes   Top shops in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen
Bike Trax   Lochrin Place, one of Edinburgh's leading bike shops
Bothy Bikes   in Aviemore - all MTB, with stuff on riding in the Aviemore area, SCU downhill and XC series, and of course info on the bikes they stock.
CycleLife   in Dundee (formerly Nicholson's Cycling Centre). A nice site with stuff about the shop and the new bikes from Raleigh Special Products.
Dales Cycles   in Glasgow - an interesting site from the largest bike store in the west of Scotland.
Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op   A huge shop that boasts a massive range of cycle products, the online catalogue lists about 80% of all the stock and the website is full of other useful resources.
Hardie Bikes   Family run bike shop, stocking top name brands. Craig Hardie, well known on the race circuit for his BMX, XC and DH achievements co-runs the shop with his father.
Sandy Wallace Cycles   A well stocked shop in Inverkeithing. Orange bikes are the main bike stocked by Sandy, but he has a huge choice of kit, including clothing. Helpful staff and an active race team.
Scott's Cycles   A family run shop in Leven, and sponsors of Kennoway Road Club.
Wheels of Callander   Has a wide range of cycle products in stock. Also has a first-class accommodation service, so you can use the facilities for a weekend riding in the Trossachs.

Crispin Bennett's Cycle Routes   Crispin is involved with the CTC and enjoys spending weekends away on his bike cycling round Scotland. He has now compiled a list of his favourite routes and put them on the web.
Bike Magic   A cyclists' "online club". Plenty of interest here, and a good links section with ratings supplied by surfers.
Bike Pyrenees   Shedloads of information on cycling in the Midi Pyrenees. Classic routes and rides, including the famous Raid Pyreneen. Now has details of the 2001 TdF stages in the Pyrenees. Can be read in either English or French.
Critical Mass   "Spontaneous" cycle rides highlighting the problems faced by cyclists on city streets.
Cyber Cyclery   "The Internet Bicycling Club"
Cycle America   Tour company offering supported cycle-camping treks throughout the more scenic areas of the US. They also organise a coast to coast ride across America.
Graham Baxter   The widest range of cycling tours available, including the daunting L'Etape du Tour.
Graham Watson  

Master cycling photographer Graham Watson has a selection of superb photos on show, all taken at major international races.

The Great Drumtochty Challenge   A one-day event which combines orienteering and mountain biking to produce a highly challenging competition. Takes place on 20th May 2001.
The Great Inverurie Bike Ride   in aid of charity. This year's event will be on Sunday 1st July.
Harmonie B&B   A small family run B&B in the French Pyrenees, with many of the routes and mountain sections of the TDF on our doorstep, as well as numerous beautiful - easier graded - routes.

procycling   magazine. An excellent magazine for fans of the European pro scene.
SportsTrails.com   Organise top quality cycling holidays in Majorca, Ireland and at Lake Garda in Italy, as well as training camps.
Team Internet   An interesting concept - a cycling club based on the Internet. Based in the USA (where else?), they have their own club kit and race in US Federation events. I'm not really sure why, though.
Trento Bike Pages   Loads of information and reports on cycle-touring around Europe and the Mediterranean.
UK Cycling Newsgroup (uk.rec.cycling)   The only UK-oriented cycling discussion group. Any subject to do with cycling in Britain.
